Turnitin Workshop: in this workshop we went over adding an assignment drop box to your Moodle course in order to use Turnitin. We also looked at the Originality Report from the professor and the student's view.
Copyright – what does this mean in today’s classroom
This workshop looked at the copyright law, some current court cases in the media, and what you need to know as an instructor in the digital age. We looked at Fair Use, the TEACH Act and other guidelines for using material in the online learning environment. Online Meeting Software: This workshop focused on a number of the web conferencing software options that are currently available. We demonstrated Connect.SBU what it is, how to use it and the options it offers. We also shared and discussed some other products that are available, most offer free options. See how collaboration is easier than ever with these different tools and sites.
Screen Capture Workshop: This workshop looked at screen capture software and we demo how to use it. We looked at using the free versions of these products that are available online. These tools can be very useful for creating tutorials, flipped classroom demonstrations, and online/hybrid courses.
Cloud Storage Options: At this workshop we discussed the cloud based storage products Dropbox, Google Docs and OneDrive. We looked at some of the pros and cons of each and discussed how it could be used for class collaboration projects and how it is a great place to back up important documents and photos.
