Using Project Management and Collaborative Technologies in the Classroom
Presenter: Todd PalmerFor the past five years, I have used Trello, a popular web based project management platform, as the cornerstone in my classes and my global and domestic co-curricular projects. The flexibility of the platform allows an amazing degree of creativity, which permits me to move easily between environments. These platforms not only address the learning issues but also gives me a way to instill metric-based leadership and teamwork training in all of my endeavors.
Enhance Student Engagement & Showcase Student Voice with Flipgrid
Presenter: Jennifer EastmanDrawing on my years of experience from my previous role training instructors how to incorporate digital technologies into classroom teaching, I will help attendees from every discipline learn how to integrate Flipgrid technology for student engagement into their classes. Teaching with Flipgrid empowers students to add their voice to discussions via video recording.
Instructors initiate the conversation by posting a question and/or a hyperlink to a video, article, etc. and students respond. Students expand discussions by responding to each other. The presentation will also show attendees examples of Flipgrid’s use via social media with the Twitter hashtag: #flipgridfever Note: Flipgrid is free (one grid) or purchased annually (multiple grids). Students always participate for free via the app or website access, no student account is required.
